Crispy Baked Tofu

Ingredient List

1 package (14 oz.) organic, non-GMO extra firm tofu
1 T avocado oil
1 T liquid aminos or tamari
1 T corn starch (non GMO) or arrowroot powder
1 t. sea salt
1-2 t honey
1/4 t. black pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Remove tofu from package, slice lengthwise and set between two paper towels or a dish cloth to drain for 30 minutes. I recommend placing a cast iron skillet or a heavy item on top to help.
  3. After 30 minutes, press any remaining water out with towels and then slice into bite sized cubes (I slice each half of the block into 16 cubes)
  4. Toss the tofu cubes in avocado oil, tamari or aminos and honey
  5. Sprinkle corn starch, sea salt,  and black pepper onto tofu
  6. Use spatula to toss tofu until coated
  7. Spread in a single layer on a parchment lined baking sheet or silicon baking mat
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, turning tofu once during baking for even crispness. Broil for last several minutes for extra crispiness
