Baked Tofu with Peanut Sauce
Ingredient List
1 package (14 oz) non-GMO extra firm tofu
¼ cup natural peanut butter
1 tbsp tahini
1 Tablespoon tamari or liquid aminos
1 teaspoon honey or agave
1 tbsp avocado oil
1 tsp hot water
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp Chinese Five Spice (optional)
2 tbsp cornstarch or arrowroot
1 tsp sesame oil
¼ cup natural peanut butter
1 tbsp tahini
1 Tablespoon tamari or liquid aminos
1 teaspoon honey or agave
1 tbsp avocado oil
1 tsp hot water
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp Chinese Five Spice (optional)
2 tbsp cornstarch or arrowroot
1 tsp sesame oil
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Prepare tofu. Remove from package and drain. Place the tofu between two flat plates, cutting boards or baking pans. Weigh the top with a heavy object, such as a book or can, so that the sides of the tofu bulge slightly, but don’t split. Let stand for 30 minutes to drain as much liquid as possible. When tofu is drained, cut into 1-inch cubes.
- Meanwhile, combine all ingredients but sesame oil and tofu in a bowl and whisk together.
- Gently mix the tofu into the sauce, coating evenly. Spread tofu on a parchment lined baking sheet. Place in oven for 30 minutes, flipping half way.
- Remove from oven and drizzle with sesame oil.
Serve over your favorite whole grain and mixed veggies or a salad.
